It’s a music video he made for Sunfish, further close friends of ours. It is a mix of real 3D footage and computer animation. Alexander has his new website Magical Agency up, though there is nothing to see except the video at this point. Also on the web site you will find an Anaglyph 3D version of the video requiring the use of red/cyan Anaglyph glasses.

This post is dedicated to dancer and choreographer Johanna Roggan.
She’s a dear friend of mine and will play a major role in the Antithesis film: She will dance, being the only human appearance in the film, as well as choreograph her own dancing.
I’m excited to present to you a film portrait I shot early this year, meeting Johanna after a dance play for three dancers that she directed and choreographed. An interview is accompanied by beautiful scenes filmed on stage at the play.

Johanna Roggan was born in Dresden, Germany in 1984. During her secondary education she studied Eurythmics (movement methodology by Rudolf Steiner) as well as acting. Since then she has developed an intense love for the performing arts.
Between 2003 and 2008 she received her dance education at the Imma Birgit Buhl school, Nürnberg, danceworks berlin and the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität, Linz (AT) where she studied the multiple facets of both modern and contemporary dance.
Afterwards, she completed the GYROKINESIS® teacher training in Linz and Berlin.

Fascinated with the versatility of new media with the field of performing arts, she came to work with the TMA (Trans-Media-Academy) Dresden-Hellerau in 2008. A network of musicians, video artists, software designers, cultural managers, dancers and visionaries arose.

Johanna Roggan’s impulse to search for new movements eventually brought her to Tel Aviv at the end of 2008. Since her arrival she has danced with the Dana Ruttenberg Dance Group. In 2009 she gave a dance workshop für Palestinian and Israeli children and teenagers in collaboration with the non-profit organization Windows (channel for communication).

In the beginning of March 2010 Johanna Roggan returned back to Germany where she started to work closely with the Trans-Media-Academy (TMA) Hellerau.

They explore and advance possibilities of interactive environments. She engages in active exchange with the software engineer Frieder Weiss, originator of the software EyeCon and Kalypso. Both programs enable through a tracking system that sound and graphics can interact with the dancer’s movements.
Within this time and context works like »body-music-plateau«, »african_lab dance« or »European_Teleplateaus« (linked EU-project with Madrid, Prag, Norrköping and Dresden) accrued. In May 2010 she gave a workshop for interactive environments at the art.on.wires festival, Oslo.

Johanna Roggan has had the chance to work with many choreographers, including:
Ana Catalina Román, Richard Siegal, Maya Lispker, Chaim Gebber, Yossi Youngman, Frieder Weiss, Editta Braun, Norman Douglas, Kathinka Sonneborn, Robert Hewitt, Dana Ruttenberg, Jarek Cemerek, Helmnottheater Lichtenstein and members of the Batsheva dance company. She gives regular training in Gaga based dance (training method of the Batsheva dance company by Ohad Naharin)
In the fields of acting and physical theater she has worked with Friedrich Bührer, Gudrun Scheibner and actors of the “Theater der jungen Generation“, Dresden.

This one is slightly off-topic, but not really. It’s a short film portrait I made this summer about my brother’s festival orange juice business and our extended trip through Hungary and all the way down to Greece to buy oranges directly from a farmer’s cooperative.
I show it here because it’s on these Psytrance festivals I’m following my brother to for already twelve years now where I’ve had many of the substantial ideas for the Antithesis film. Also in this film portrait you see a few pictures from the OZORA Festival in Hungary; some will also make their way into the upcoming Antithesis film trailer.
